Company website blocked on Vodafone Network This was painful…. A client phoned up to say that their website was blocked and was there a problem with the ssl? So i ran an SSL checker and the website was fine. And it all seemed fine on my browsers, even with Private tabs, even on the Tor browser. I spoke to the client and they said not only was it blocked but that there was a warning about adult content!!!. AND that other people had the same problem! BUT they also mentioned that it was ok on desktop. So i disabled wifi on my phone and tried to connect over data (and i happen to be on Vodafone too) – and … I’m blocked – there’s and SSl problem and when i go for advanced – let me see the site anyway .. i get the adult content warning!!!!! This was painful….

A client phoned up to say that their website was blocked and was there a problem with the ssl?

So i ran an SSL checker and the website was fine. And it all seemed fine on my browsers, even with Private tabs, even on the Tor browser.

I spoke to the client and they said not only was it blocked but that there was a warning about adult content!!!. AND that other people had the same problem!

Good afternoon, Tom 👋 Thanks for getting in touch, I hope that you’re well 🙂
I understand that your website is being blocked by our mobile network and we can certainly take a look into this for you.
I’ve forwarded on the information which you’ve provided so that it can be reviewed by the team who can whitelist websites, and we’ll let you know once we have an update.

Next day:

Good Afternoon Tom, we hope you are having a good weekend so far?
Our back office team have come back to confirm this has now been resolved, and ask that you clear the browser’s cache and test.
Please let us know how you get on.

and it seems to be fixed now and nolonger is the Company website blocked on Vodafone Network

Another point was that Vodafone seem to use Virus total as supplier of ‘whether to blacklist a site or not’ services. and the site had a red mark against it. But then later didnt…

UPDATE 1st Feb 2024
Im still getting  notifications from this post. So whatever Vodpahone have done they have not fixed it and this is still causing  problems fro a lot of businesses getting  blocked by Vodaphone.
