Automatic Email Account Setup

• In Outlook, choose the File tab

When setting up your account, please choose More Settings > Outgoing Server and check the box for ‘My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication’.

IMAP

With IMAP your emails are left on the server.

This is great because you can see the same emails and email folders from your computer, tablet and phone.  But:

2. there is a limit to the server space – we offer 10Gb which is quite a few years if email. When the server is full the system will stop receiving new email. Therefore you will need to delete email or download a backup.

POP3

With POP3 your emails CAN be left on the server OR downloaded to your computer.

This is great because you have a copy of all your emails safely stored on your computer. But:

1. If your computer fetches an email then your tablet or phone will not see the email
2. If you leave the email on line then you will have to ‘see’ the email again on your phone or tablet.
3. If you reply from one machine, your reply is not viewable from another machine, ie you wont see replies you wrote on your phone if you sent it from your computer.
