seems i am not alone in this. this does seem to be more of a 123Reg hosting thing ( i dont use 123reg – client does)

so i commented out the line: I commented the line 160 in all-in-one-event-calendar.php and now it is working.

Still have loading problems – 123 Re say its the calendar for this client. Found this instruction:
Please clear your cache from wp-content -> plugins -> All in one calendar -> cache(Delete entire folder)
though deleted the folder and the page failed so remade an empty cache folder and it started to work again. still slow so am trying W3 Total Cache. see if that any better.
